Rome & the Underground Church  June 22-26, 2009 at RCLS, 9am-11:30am

The kids will be spending a little time in Rome with the apostle Paul during the week of June 22-26.  Our trip to Rome begins each morning at 9am in the gymnasium at RCLS.  Children ages 3 through entering 5th grade are invited on the trip.  We will interact with other groups traveling to Rome, including those attending Camp RCLS and any guests we bring.  This is a trip you don’t want to miss!  Invite your friends and neighbors, too, opportunities like these can’t be passed up!
Please stop by the VBS table in the narthex to register for this summer’s program.
Still needed for the “trip” are adult & youth leaders and various supplies.

Information was distributed to community children who attended the Easter Egg hunt.  Please invite friends, neighbors, and family to join in on the fun!  Junior and Senior youth are invited to help with the games.  A signup sheet is located on the Youth bulletin board.

THE LAST DAY OF SUNDAY SCHOOL IS MAY 17!

Summer Worship Services Updates

Starting May 27 we begin our Wednesday 6:30pm worship services.  The Wednesday services offer an expanded explanation of the biblical passages in a more casual setting than our traditional worship services.  These are offered for members who will be out of town the following weekend or just prefer the casual setting.  Our Saturday 6:00pm worship services continue in their traditional format throughout the summer months.  The Sunday service switches to a single 9:00am service starting the first Sunday in June (June 7).

Last year Grace increased the fellowship opportunities for our members by offering ice cream dessert after the Wednesday and Saturday worship services.  We had a great turnout and received many positive comments so we will again be offering ice cream after the Wednesday and Saturday worship services.  This summer we will be adding three summer barbeques.  The trustees will be grilling hot dogs and we will be serving chips and ice cream immediately following the worship services on the first Wednesday of the month (June 3, July 1 and August 5).  We hope everyone will be able to attend one or more of these events this summer.

Special Speaker – Don’t miss it!  This year as part of Grace’s Pentecost celebration we will host Rev. Peter A. Meier, the Minnesota South District Assistant to the President for Missions.  Rev. Meier will preach at all three services on May 30 and 31.
Rev. Meier’s responsibilities include sharing and promoting God’s Mission in the Minnesota South District by developing and carrying out a District mission strategy, mission education, and communication of the District mission program to the people and congregations of the Minnesota South District.  His goal is to help congregations to see themselves as Mission Outposts to their communities, as well as to provide supervision and encouragement for missionary personnel and District subsidized ministries.  Primarily, Rev. Meier works with people and congregations interested in new mission starts and cross-cultural mission work.
